Credit Research Intern

About the role

ServiZurich, part of Zurich Insurance Group and based in Barcelona since 2006, is looking for a motivated and intellectually curious intern to join its Credit Research & Analysis Team. The intern supports fundamental research on corporate credit issuers and sectors, helps maintain high-quality research content and contributes to analytical tools built with modern technology. The role offers hands-on exposure to traditional credit analysis and technology-enabled investment research.

Key responsibilities

• Fundamental credit and sector research: support analysts in assessing corporate issuers, review financial statements, earnings releases, investor presentations and rating agency materials, monitor credit metrics, leverage, liquidity, cash flow and issuer risks, and contribute to sector outlooks and thematic projects.
• Maintain and update issuer research, sector materials, internal databases and recurring publications, and prepare research reports, presentations and materials for investment discussions.
• Collect, validate and organise data from internal and external sources.
• Help build credit-market analysis, screening and relative-value tools, dashboards, databases and automated research workflows.
• Explore uses of Python, data analytics, automation and generative or agentic AI, and work with Bloomberg and internal data under the relevant controls.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, data science, computer science or a related field.
• Strong interest in financial markets, fixed income and corporate credit.
• Basic understanding of financial statements, corporate finance and valuation.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Exposure to Python, SQL, VBA or similar tools is an advantage.
• Interest in AI, automation and data-driven research.
