Data Acquisition Systems and Solutions Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Data Acquisition Systems and Solutions Engineer in Getafe to design, implement and maintain advanced data acquisition systems for aerospace and defence applications. The role combines hardware and sensor systems, data engineering pipelines and technical services representation to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, deployment and integration of data acquisition solutions (hardware and software).
• Specify and document the needs for sensors, transducers and instrumentation for health monitoring and condition-based maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on data acquisition requirements aligned with customer expectations.
• Develop data processing algorithms and methodologies to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Troubleshoot DAQ systems, sensors and data flow, and perform system validation and verification.
• Generate technical documentation such as system specifications, test plans, operational procedures, CONOPS and OPSCON.
• Provide technical support and training to end users, and take part in project planning, scheduling, finance and progress reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining data acquisition systems.
• Experience in the aerospace or defence industry is highly desirable.
• Fluent English; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
• Availability for travel (meetings, customer demos, support).

Required skills

• Sensor technologies (accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, pressure transducers) and signal conditioning.
• Programming in Python and C++.
• Data communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN bus and MIL-STD-1553.
• Data analysis and visualization tools.
