Data Analytics Engineer

About the role

Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is hiring a Data Analytics Engineer in Barcelona to join its Data Platform Enablement team. This team maintains and governs Glovo's data tools, sets data governance standards and automates the processes that keep the data ecosystem trustworthy and efficient. The role suits someone technical, ambitious and independent who wants to take on increasingly complex governance, automation and support work while mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and govern core data tools such as Looker, defining and enforcing governance standards across the company
• Automate manual data processes using LLMs, workflow tools such as n8n and Make, and API/MCP connections
• Contribute to monitoring GCP infrastructure usage and costs and help define governance around cloud resources
• Support the evolution of Looker towards conversational analytics and help build a self-serve Data Support experience
• Propose improvements to how data is consumed and supported across the company
• Delegate tasks, give feedback and mentor the team's 3 interns
• Partner with senior Data Engineers and stakeholders across all business areas

Required profile

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Analytics, BI, Data Engineering or a similar technical data role
• Strong SQL foundations, able to write, debug and optimise analytical queries independently
• Working proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation and workflow improvements
• Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative engineering practices
• Experience using LLMs and/or automation tools (n8n, Make, APIs) to streamline processes
• Good English, able to explain technical topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform, infrastructure/cost monitoring or governance
• Exposure to Looker or other modern BI tools; interest in conversational analytics
• Interest in mentoring, delegating or project management as a path towards people leadership
