Software Solution Architect (WMS/WES/WCS)

About the role

KION Group, which includes Linde Material Handling since 2006, is looking for a Software Solution Architect in Barcelona. You will design and specify WMS/WES/WCS solutions and act as the main link between customer requirements, regional experts and the development team across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in the project kick-off with the customer and create WMS/WES/WCS process flowcharts and specifications.
• Create simulation scenarios for throughput and material flow to validate logistics processes.
• Turn solution designs into development tasks, user stories and acceptance criteria, and lead technical exchanges with developers across EMEA, APAC and NA.
• Validate the solution through FAT and SAT tests, and provide training and handover to customers.
• Be the technical escalation point during go-live and support the improvement of the implementation process.
• Ensure quality, time and budget while supporting agile development and sprints.
• Support the sales phase for large, complex projects and act as the technical liaison between the solution team and regional intralogistics experts.

Required profile

• University degree or bachelor's in computer science, systems, software, industrial engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in solution design, technical architecture or senior consulting, preferably in logistics or industrial automation.
• Fluent written and spoken English; willingness to travel for projects (minimum 20% EMEA).
• Customer-oriented, strategic thinker with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Software architecture across different frameworks, frontend, backend and cloud computing.
• Basic knowledge of C# fullstack.NET, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GitLab, JIRA and frontend UI/HMI.
• Interfacing skills such as SAP interfaces, OPC-UA, REST, TCP/IP, MQTT, Modbus, JSON, HTML and XML.
• Familiarity with WMS, ERP systems, PLC and SCADA, and intralogistics processes.
