Data Engineer / Data Consultant (Spain)

About the role

BASE life science is seeking a proactive Data Engineer / Data Consultant to join its Spain team. You will work at the intersection of technology, business, and life‑sciences, focusing on data migration projects and translating customer requirements into clear technical logic.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and customer requirements into structured migration or data‑handling activities.
• Design and execute data migration and processing tasks in a controlled, traceable, and compliant manner.
• Analyse data, define transformation logic, document approaches and support project delivery.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand needs, challenge assumptions and propose optimal solutions.
• Present technical solutions and explain complex topics clearly.
• Contribute to data quality, documentation and governance best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a STEM or quantitative field.
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience in version control and team‑based development.
• Advanced Excel skills and solid PowerPoint presentation abilities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to turn requirements into clear logic.
• Confidence in direct client interaction, asking questions and presenting solutions.
• High attention to detail, proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
