Data Quality Intern

About the role

HP is looking for a final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field to join its Digital Acceleration team in Sant Cugat del Valles on a part-time basis. The role focuses on end-to-end data quality assurance, ensuring data is accurate, complete, consistent and reliable across sources, pipelines, transformations and outputs. Candidates must be enrolled in a Spanish university, stay enrolled until the end of the internship, and be able to sign an internship agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end validation of data solutions, from source data through pipelines and transformations to reports, dashboards and other outputs.
• Define and run data quality checks covering accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity and business rules.
• Support data quality investigations, documenting findings and contributing to root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain reusable SQL queries, Python scripts and automated checks.
• Validate changes to data pipelines and outputs to avoid regressions.
• Maintain documentation of test cases, results, known issues and resolutions.
• Occasionally help maintain the team workstation environment and build small scripts for internal tools.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI or a related field.
• Available to start in February 2027 and finish by September 2027; internship lasts 4 to 12 months.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, learning agility and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• English at minimum C1 level; Spanish and/or Catalan are valued.

Required skills

• Preferred: Python, SQL, Databricks or similar platforms, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Query.
• Preferred: ETL processes, data pipelines, data quality principles, testing methods, root cause analysis, version control with GitHub.
• Practical experience in data quality, data engineering, software development or automation is highly appreciated.
