Deputy Head of Primary (Leadership Role)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, inspirational and highly motivated Deputy Head of Primary and Early Years to join our leadership team. Working closely with the Head of Primary, you will shape and deliver outstanding education and care for children across the school, driving improvement and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the school’s vision, contribute to self‑evaluation, and drive whole‑school improvement initiatives.
• Promote high standards of teaching and learning across Early Years and Primary, monitoring quality through observations and data analysis.
• Support and develop teachers, manage performance processes, and nurture a collaborative professional culture.
• Oversee safeguarding, behaviour, and wellbeing systems, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance.
• Manage operational areas such as timetabling, assessment, attendance and enrichment to ensure smooth day‑to‑day running.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in departmental or school management.
• Proven track record of successful departmental leadership.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of best practices and tools for curriculum and assessment.
