About the role

Want to work in a dynamic international school in Spain where sport, wellbeing, and student development are at the heart of everything? We’re looking for a new Head of PE to lead our thriving department!

Key responsibilities

• Make regular learning visits to classrooms and conduct follow‑up Learning Conversations.
• Encourage staff to engage in the “Leading the Learning” process, including drop‑in visits.
• Analyse learning‑visit data, create action plans and deliver staff learning sessions.
• Line‑manage teaching staff, conduct Teacher Learning Self‑Evaluations and set improvement targets.
• Write an annual Improvement Plan with three SMART targets for teaching and learning.
• Oversee development and evaluation of curriculum resources in collaboration with staff.
• Prepare, facilitate and deliver in‑sets and CPD training for the department.
• Provide ongoing support and induction for new teachers to ensure smooth integration.
• Design inspirational learning environments that showcase and inspire high‑impact learning.
• Review baseline assessment data (GL, MAP) and use iSAMS tracking to determine interventions.
• Manage, develop and evaluate the PE curriculum to meet educational standards.
• Coordinate with EAL and SEN coordinators and work with primary counterparts to ensure vertical curriculum alignment.
