Job description

About the role

T-Systems Iberia is looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to design and enhance its Kubernetes-native automation platform OCAS (Operator-based Cloud Automation Solution) for the Telekom Cloud environment. OCAS provides fully declarative lifecycle management (deploy, configure, update, teardown) for containerized applications and CNFs using CRDs, controllers and GitOps with FluxCD, with integrations such as Vault/ESO, Kafka, Logging Operator, Telegraf and GitLab/Artifactory.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, implement and test production-grade Kubernetes operators (Go, controller-runtime/Kubebuilder or Operator SDK) with tested CRDs, including CNF, service and infrastructure provisioning operators, plus a test-automation framework handler and Helm wrapper.
  • Define reconciliation logic, status, events and finalizers, and build idempotent, resilient controllers.
  • Build configuration-as-data templates, environment-specific rendering and Git-based workflows.
  • Integrate Kafka, Logging Operator and Telegraf, and create shared parameter models and config builders for cross-operator parameter injection.
  • Create and optimize multi-environment, multi-cluster GitOps repositories with FluxCD, Helm/Kustomize overlays, release definitions and inventory CRDs.
  • Automate the full CNF lifecycle, including in-service upgrades, dependency management, scaling and clean teardown, with observability by design (logs, events, metrics, retries).
  • Integrate security and compliance: RBAC, Vault/ESO secret handling, image and chart provenance via Artifactory, and policy alignment.
  • Develop GitLab CI/CD pipelines for build, test, security scanning and release to Artifactory.
  • Write architecture and design documentation, including concepts, APIs, runbooks and user manuals.

Required profile

  • Degree in Computer Science or a comparable STEM program.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience in software development.
  • In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, ideally Go or Python.
  • Proven expertise in software architecture.
  • Business-fluent English.

Required skills

  • Kubernetes, Kubernetes APIs, CRDs, reconciliation patterns and finalizers, and RBAC.
  • GitOps, Helm, Kustomize and GitLab CI/CD.

What we offer

  • Hybrid work model and flexible working hours.
  • Customized training, including Coursera access, weekly language classes and international mentoring sessions.
  • Flexible compensation plan covering health insurance, meal vouchers, childcare and transport.
  • Life and accident insurance, telemedicine, specialist services and 26+ vacation days per year.
