Director of Finance – Luxury Resort Pre-Opening

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join the Executive Leadership Team of a brand‑new five‑star luxury resort on Ibiza’s west coast. You will shape the financial strategy from pre‑opening through ongoing operations, building the finance function from the ground up and acting as a commercial partner to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team for the resort.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and long‑term financial planning.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and board‑level reports for owners and investors.
• Drive EBITDA performance by partnering with operational leaders across rooms, F&B, spa and events.
• Monitor labour, payroll, purchasing and departmental costs.
• Implement robust financial controls, compliance procedures and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish accounting, tax and statutory requirements.
• Manage banking relationships, treasury, insurance, auditors and external advisers.
• Lead all pre‑opening finance activities, including systems implementation and supplier set‑up.
• Identify opportunities for reporting automation and business performance improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Director of Finance, Financial Controller or senior finance leader in luxury hotels or resorts.
• Background in four‑ or five‑star hotel finance, preferably with pre‑opening experience.
• Strong commercial awareness of rooms, food & beverage, spa, leisure and events.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis capabilities.
• Leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
