Environmental System Qualification Engineer

About the role

A vacancy for an Environmental System Qualification Engineer has opened at Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe. The successful candidate joins the Engineering Support team within the Systems Center of Competence and supports the full development life cycle, from requirement analysis and system definition through development, environmental qualification, integration and certification/qualification in a multi-platform environment. The role is dynamic because several programs in different development and in-service stages are involved.

Key responsibilities

• Support the system development life cycle, including environmental qualification, integration and certification/qualification
• Define environmental qualification requirements and tests, and review test results for equipment
• Define interfaces between functions or systems and ensure they are consistently implemented
• Contribute to checkpoints and reviews, aligned with program phases and gates
• Support the environmental qualification campaign and verify that requirements are fully implemented
• Ensure the product is designed according to current practice and relevant safety standards, and complies with airworthiness regulations
• Support production, reception flight testing and delivery

Required profile

• Degree-level education in Engineering
• More than 5 years of experience in system development
• More than 2 years of experience in environmental qualification activities
• Flexibility to adapt to different tasks and environments
• Professional level English
• Ability to manage technical interfaces, stakeholders and supplier management
