Fatigue Behaviour of Additive Manufactured Parts Internship

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is offering a six‑month curricular practicum in Getafe, Spain, focused on the fatigue behaviour of metallic additive‑manufactured parts. The internship is part‑time (5 h per day) and will culminate in a Bachelor’s final project (TFG).

Key responsibilities

• Investigate variables influencing fatigue behaviour of additively manufactured metallic components.
• Identify and analyse main defects, their types and distributions.
• Perform computational modelling of equivalent stress concentrations.
• Assess fatigue life associated with stress concentrations and draw conclusions.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of an Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• English level B2 minimum (C1 desirable) and Spanish level B1 minimum.
• General knowledge of the Finite Element Method.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team spirit and ability to work in an international environment.
