Field Service Technician - Southwest

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Technician to support customers in the Southwest region. The role involves installing, demonstrating, qualifying, repairing, and modifying Fives machines and related equipment on‑site. You will work closely with technical support, service coordinators and customers to ensure equipment meets performance specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Install, demonstrate, qualify, repair, or modify Fives machines (mechanical, electrical, CNC) at customer sites.
• Follow verbal or written instructions from tech support, service coordinator or manager, using drawings and service documentation.
• Operate equipment to demonstrate or qualify performance and verify accuracy against specifications.
• Report deviations, problems, and complete service reports according to procedures.
• Instruct customer personnel on safe operation, maintenance and repair, highlighting safety precautions.
• Notify customers of unsafe practices and provide feedback for product improvement.
• Travel extensively, both nationally and internationally, spending the majority of time on the road.
• Maintain regular attendance and be available for overtime or off‑shift work as required.

Required profile

• Ability to lift up to 25 lb regularly and occasionally more than 100 lb.
• Good color vision and ability to use hands for handling, reaching, and operating tools.
• Comfortable working in loud environments, near moving mechanical parts, and in varied conditions (wet, humid, high places, outdoor weather, electrical risk, vibration).
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours.
• Strong interpersonal skills for routine interaction with customers and colleagues.

Required skills

• Mechanical repair of industrial machinery.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• CNC machine operation and adjustment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service documentation.
