Flight Ops Tools Performance Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Flight Ops Tools Performance Engineer to join its team of A/C Performance Engineers. The role develops and maintains the full set of aircraft performance tools (Electronic Flight Bag, Performance Engineer Program and Performance Administration Tool) and supports pilots, performance engineers, mission planners and flight test. Work covers the A400M, A330 MRTT and C295/CN235 programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the development of aircraft performance tools for military transport aircraft, including the EFB (Flysmart, LTA+ and future software), PEP and PAADMIN, with the associated development team.
• Support the development of aircraft performance data in the Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM) and Aircraft Performance Data Manual (APD).
• Provide aircraft performance expertise to the Training and Flight Operations organisation (TAST) for current and future programmes.
• Report to the Flight Operations Aircraft Performance responsible on activities, risks and issues within the scope of responsibility.
• Manage customer-facing performance tools within the TASTO31 scope, covering software requirements, development follow-up, testing and delivery, together with stakeholders such as Navblue, the Customer Services Performance Department and software contractors.
• Manage subcontracted work packages, maintain customer relations and support training material and deliveries.
• Contribute to cross-functional software development projects and support the Design Office, Mission Planning and Flight Test teams.
• Deliver Flight Operations services on time, within budget and to quality standards, including on-site support and training of new personnel.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans, while managing the balance between cost and quality.
