Flight Test Instrumentation Systems Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Aerospacial company Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Flight Test Instrumentation Systems Engineer in its Getafe (Madrid) site. The engineer joins the Engineering Department and works in a multidisciplinary team closely connected with international teams at other sites. The team ensures that Flight Test Instrumentation (FTM) systems and operations are designed, developed, operated and maintained to support all flight testing activities and campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, capture and challenge flight test means requirements with stakeholders to define and agree on a verification and validation strategy.
• Support design and production teams during the integration of flight test means into the aircraft.
• Coordinate with customers, airworthiness authorities and external stakeholders to collect evidence and issue validation statements confirming onboard systems are fit for purpose and safe.
• Operate airborne and ground flight test means in line with safety standards, prepare functional checks and support active flight test campaigns.
• Process and securely store flight test data according to security classifications and deliver the required data to the customer.
• Maintain FTM configuration in airworthy condition through maintenance protocols and first-level troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (aeronautical, industrial, systems or related discipline).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in systems engineering or flight test operations.
• Native or fluent Spanish and advanced written and spoken English.
• High adaptability to complex topics, strong collaboration and networking skills across multi-site teams.

Required skills

• Systems Engineering methodology and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• French and/or German proficiency is valued
