Hardware Test Means Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Aircraft and integration test center at Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) is growing and is looking for a Hardware Test Means Engineer. You will be accountable for all new hardware development of energy laboratory test means, from design specification and supplier evaluation within Call For Tender procurement to support manufacturing, validation, verification and final delivery to internal customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design electro-mechanical test means, including technologies, instrumentation and materials to meet system requirements.
• Lead technical milestone meetings (Kick-Off, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review) throughout the development lifecycle.
• Mitigate technical risks and identify opportunities by executing targeted mitigation plans.
• Validate and verify the complete design and technical documentation, performing commissioning and Acceptance Test Procedures before entry into service.
• Build a customer-oriented relationship with the Design Office while ensuring Health, Safety and Product Regulatory Compliance.
• Evaluate suppliers in Call For Tender procurement and support manufacturing up to final delivery.

Required profile

• Aeronautical or industrial engineering degree or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in electro-mechanical design, validation, verification and project management (PDR, CDR) focused on test benches and test means.
• Negotiation-level English and Spanish, written and spoken; other languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in 3D CATIA V5 and electro-mechanical design.
• Project management methodologies.
• Nice to have: tooling, manufacturing processes, interconnection wiring, measurement sensors, or software programming in LabVIEW / VeriStand.
