Head Bartender

About the role

The Barcelona EDITION is looking for a Head Bartender. The role covers serving drinks and wine to guests, managing stock and supplies, and supporting the team and management.

Key responsibilities

• Answer guest questions about the origin, vintage and style of wines, and prepare drink orders to recipe using measuring systems
• Check quality and quantity of stock and supplies, requisition supplies and perform bottle-for-bottle liquor restocking
• Issue, open and serve wine and champagne bottles, and communicate last call at the designated closing time
• Count the bank at the end of each shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, obtain change and keep the bank secure
• Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas, and anticipate replenishment needs
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and welcome guests warmly

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least 1 year of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move through narrow or uneven spaces
