HR Business Partner – Iberia

About the role

AIG Europe is looking for a strategic HR Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor to regional leadership in Iberia (Spain and Portugal). Working closely with the Head of HR, Iberia, the role shapes and delivers a strategic people agenda that supports regional and global business objectives, translating global strategy into pragmatic, executable people solutions in a complex, matrixed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver cyclical HR processes such as performance, talent and succession, making them value adding and commercially relevant
• Coach senior leaders to build organisational capability, strengthen leadership effectiveness and drive high-performance cultures
• Influence and challenge leadership thinking with insight, data and sound commercial judgement
• Support the globalisation and localisation of the strategic people plan across regions and markets
• Lead and coordinate EMEA regional programmes and projects, with clear governance and stakeholder alignment, in line with Centers of Excellence such as Compensation and Benefits and Talent Acquisition
• Balance global HR frameworks with local business requirements and connect global, regional and local stakeholders
• Manage expectations and competing demands among regional and cluster stakeholders

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner and broad cross-functional HR in a multinational environment, ideally insurance or financial services
• Business acumen and a track record showing business impact through human capital initiatives
• Ability to balance competing priorities and drive initiatives across organisational boundaries
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish

Required skills

• Strong use of data and metrics to guide leaders and decision-making
• Employee relations, case management and good knowledge of employment law in Spain and Portugal
• Project management, organisation, prioritisation and multitasking
