HR & Payroll Senior Associate with German

About the role

Strada, a people, payroll and technology leader operating in 180+ countries, is looking for an HR & Payroll Senior Associate fluent in German to support the team responsible for German payroll, post-payroll and HR-related activities. The role ensures accurate, compliant and timely delivery and requires strong knowledge of German payroll processes and effective communication in German and English.

Key responsibilities

• Process German payroll end-to-end according to agreed calendars and KPIs, and manage payroll and HR data to agreed SLAs and quality standards
• Support statutory, year-end and payroll reporting, and resolve payroll queries using knowledge of German payroll processes and country requirements
• Guide junior team members, respond to tickets, calls and employee queries within SLAs, and liaise with clients, internal stakeholders and third parties
• Support system maintenance, testing and implementation, complete SOC controls and report system issues with evidence
• Take part in root cause analysis, maintain process documentation and DWIs, escalate out-of-scope deviations to the Service Manager and handle confidential employee and payroll information appropriately

Required profile

• Fluent German and English, written and spoken
• Ideally 3+ years of relevant payroll experience, preferably in German payroll, with end-to-end payroll processing in an HR outsourcing, shared services, HR consulting or corporate environment
• Good understanding of payroll controls, deadlines and data accuracy, and experience with HR and payroll data
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• Current and future work authorization in the country of application, without visa sponsorship

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Workday, SAP or PeopleSoft is desirable
• Attention to detail, independent work, and strong communication and problem-solving skills
