HR Specialist - Iberia (Spain & Portugal)

About the role

ERM is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to provide trusted HR support across Spain and Portugal. You will act as a key partner to managers and employees, giving expert guidance on employee relations, employment law, people policies and HR best practice, while helping to manage business and legal risk. The role is based in either the Madrid or Barcelona office, with a flexible hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across Spain and Portugal.
• Manage employee relations matters such as performance, conduct, grievances, absence management, flexible working requests and workplace investigations.
• Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and company policies.
• Support organisational change initiatives, restructures, consultations and other workforce projects.
• Partner with managers to address people-related challenges and build leadership capability.
• Advise on HR policies, procedures and best practices for consistent and fair decisions.
• Work with regional HR, Legal and business stakeholders on complex employee matters.
• Support annual HR processes such as performance reviews, compensation cycles, talent planning and employee engagement.
• Monitor legislative developments and advise the business on their impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or Employee Relations role.
• Strong working knowledge of Spanish employment law; knowledge of Portuguese employment law is highly desirable.
• Experience managing complex employee relations cases and advising managers.
• Fluent Spanish and English required; Portuguese would be an advantage.
