Hydraulics & Actuation Systems Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Hydraulics & Actuation Systems Engineer to join its Hydraulics and Actuation Team in Getafe. The role focuses on the design, development and integration of complex hydraulic and actuation systems for Military Derivatives programmes, including Large Weapon Bay and EO/IR turret lift systems.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external work packages, program planning and development plans for actuation and hydraulic systems.
• Define system architectures and designs for Large Weapon Bay actuation, ATA29 hydraulics and EO/IR lift systems.
• Manage technical interfaces with flight physics, airframe, control/monitoring and safety certification teams.
• Specify equipment, lead supplier selection and coordinate supplier activities.
• Develop system requirements, installation (rigging) specifications and system‑level validation & verification strategies, including simulations and test support.

Required profile

• Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree (or related discipline).
• 5‑10 years of professional experience in aircraft systems engineering, program management or team coordination.
• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Understanding of aircraft certification processes.
• Experience with validation & verification (V&V) testing methods.
• Ability to perform system‑level simulations.
