Industrial Means Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

An Industrial Means Engineer is needed within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) to design, build and deliver critical production assets for launcher components and satellite manufacturing. You will work in the Manufacturing Engineering department alongside multidisciplinary engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage industrial means packages (tooling, MGSE, machines, autonomous systems) for programs, ensuring delivery on time, cost and quality.
• Analyse project performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Design, coordinate and execute tooling and MGSE for manufacturing, machining, assembly, test, ground operations and transport of launchers and satellites.
• Attend customer meetings (ESA, Ariane, etc.) and interact with local or international suppliers, including occasional travel.
• Align stakeholder needs from Manufacturing Engineering, Production, H&S, Quality and Logistics.
• Support ramp‑up planning, takt adherence and serial part sequencing.
• Prepare maintenance activities in advance and support maintenance and production teams with technical expertise.
• Deliver safe and ergonomic means to production or customers.
• Support program activities such as planning, proposals, CapEx and budgeting.
• Manage tenders, create technical specifications, evaluate supplier proposals and oversee acquisition milestones (KOM, PDR, CDR, CISS, CIPS, FA).
• Perform design and stress analysis, FMEA, GD&T verification and testing to ensure quality.
• Use CAD for concept creation and analysis.

Required profile

• Experience managing industrial means packages for aerospace or space programs.
• Ability to analyse project performance and drive improvements.
• Technical responsibility for tooling and MGSE design and execution.
• Willingness to travel for customer and supplier meetings.
• Strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Production, H&S, Quality, Logistics).
