Investment Banking Analyst – Capital Markets, Madrid

About the role

Citi's Banking is looking for Investment Banking Analysts in Madrid to join in July 2027. The analyst supports clients in raising capital in financial markets, advises on mergers, acquisitions and other corporate finance transactions, acts as an intermediary in trading operations and contributes to sophisticated investment strategies. The role is full time and recruitment is on a rolling basis.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with senior Corporate & Investment Bank officers and take part in client transactions, projects and assignments as a junior team member.
• Organise and analyse complex financial data that underpins client proposals and strategic plans.
• Prepare written recommendations, valuation materials and statistical exhibits for pitch presentations and active deals.
• Carry out economic and financial research and benchmark companies against industry and market trends.
• Build and maintain complex financial models used for valuation and decision-making.
• Evaluate risks in business decisions, ensure compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies, and escalate control issues.
• Communicate clearly and concisely internally and externally, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required profile

• Up to 2 years of relevant experience in investment banking or a closely related financial field.
• Predicted or obtained UK 2:1 (or equivalent) degree; Spanish university graduates need a grade of 7 or above.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish.
