Lab Test Means Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

A Design & Development Lab Test Means Engineer position is open at Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate joins the Laboratory Test Means Team for all Airbus Defence and Space programs, reinforcing the department responsible for the design, manufacturing, modification and maintenance of functional and software test benches, while managing suppliers and supporting aircraft equipment logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the design, manufacturing development, retrofit and maintenance of functional, software and electronic test benches across Airbus programs.
• Analyse program requirements to specify, design, build and deliver Lab Test Means and test solution systems meeting quality, time, cost and performance targets.
• Define test means specifications, drive supplier selection for subcontracted activities and manage the project during the realization phase.
• Control configuration management for aircraft equipment on test means, ensuring export control compliance and handling logistics movements.
• Execute budget provision, planning, tendering, product regulatory compliance engineering, verification procedures, component verification and commissioning.
• Collaborate with operating and maintenance teams, providing second-level support on existing test benches.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (aeronautical, industrial, electronics or a related discipline).
• 1-2 years of experience in Lab Test Means (LTM) design.
• Advanced English (written and spoken); Spanish highly recommended.
• Strong project management and customer-focused communication, with ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and handle change management.
• Nice to have: previous experience modifying and maintaining functional and software test benches.
