Lead Middleware Systems Administration

About the role

Kyndryl runs and reimagines the mission-critical technology systems that power leading businesses, and is hiring a Lead Middleware Systems Administrator in Madrid. You will solve complex problems and spot potential issues across platforms and services, working with some of the largest clients in the world. There is no typical day, as every project is different.

Key responsibilities

• Manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance.
• Oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions.
• Recommend modernization options, identify new business opportunities and build relationships with other teams and stakeholders.
• Work with clients across industries, from banking to retail.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in middleware administration.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Experience supporting business-critical production systems.
• Availability for out-of-hours support and on-call rotations.
• Growth mindset, customer-focused and inclusive in how you work with others.

Required skills

• Preferred: IBM WebSphere, IBM IHS, JBoss / Red Hat EAP, Apache Tomcat, IBM MQ, Apache HTTP Server and NGINX, SSL/TLS certificate management, load balancing and high availability, application monitoring and troubleshooting.
• DevOps: Ansible, Bash or PowerShell scripting, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Cloud: basic to intermediate experience with Cloudera and AWS.
