Managing Editor - French and Belgian Markets (Madrid-based)

About the role

Fever, a tech platform for culture and live entertainment, is looking for an experienced Editorial Executive to lead content creation for its Secret Media Network as it expands into new markets. The role reports directly to the VP of Media and manages a growing team of editors, writers, video producers and social media creatives. It covers the French and Belgian markets, with a Madrid-based office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the French and Belgian markets, including 1-on-1 management, clear workflows and individual feedback.
• Craft, communicate and execute the creative vision for the entire Secret Media Network.
• Work with editors, staff writers and the video and social team to uphold editorial standards and the brand's tone of voice.
• Elevate content in established cities and identify editorial partnership opportunities to reach a wider audience.
• Analyze data for cities in the region using internal KPIs and use findings to inform strategy.
• Coordinate, assign and prioritize editorial work, collaborate with other Fever departments and develop audience-growth strategies.
• Build and optimize a content-driven conversion funnel that links storytelling, formats, distribution and audience insights to measurable conversions.

Required profile

• English proficiency and native-level French.
• +5 years of experience in a newsroom, content agency, creative agency or digital media property.
• Minimum 2 years of team management experience.
• Passion for journalism, especially at local level, social media and digital marketing.
• Media mapping expertise and ability to work with advertising, media and TV/animation agencies.
• Strong presentation skills, data-driven and business-savvy, with solid writing skills.

Required skills

• Digital fluency across social platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X.
• Understanding of optimization technologies, AI-driven processes, workflow automation and performance metrics.
• Preferred: WordPress, Photoshop, Canva and other image/video editing tools.
