Managing Editor – Secret Media Network

About the role

Fever, a tech platform for culture and live entertainment, is hiring an experienced Managing Editor (Editorial Executive) in Madrid to lead content creation for its Secret Media Network as it expands into new markets. Reporting directly to the VP of Media, you will manage a growing team of editors, writers, video producers and social media creatives and drive the strategy and growth of the Southern Europe market.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the strategy and growth of the Southern Europe market and manage the team through 1-on-1 coaching and clear workflows.
• Craft and execute a creative vision for the entire Secret Media Network, working with editors, staff writers and the video and social team to uphold editorial standards and the brand's tone of voice.
• Elevate content in established cities and identify editorial partnerships to reach a wider audience.
• Analyze data against internal KPIs and build audience-growth strategies, while coordinating editorial work and collaborating with other Fever departments.
• Build and optimize a content-driven conversion funnel that links storytelling, formats, distribution and audience insights to measurable conversions.

Required profile

• +5 years of experience in a newsroom, content agency, creative agency or digital media property.
• Minimum 2 years of team management experience and strong leadership skills.
• Passion for journalism, especially at the local level, social media and digital marketing.
• Proficiency in English; other languages are a plus.
• Ability to inspire creative teams and present ideas clearly.

Required skills

• Media mapping and collaboration with external partners such as advertising and media agencies.
• Digital fluency across social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X).
• Data-driven approach, solid writing skills and knowledge of optimization technologies, AI-driven processes and workflow automation.
• Preferred: WordPress, Photoshop, Canva and image/video editing tools.
