Manufacturing Engineering - Ergonomist & Safety Engineer

About the role

Airbus is looking for an Ergonomist and Safety Engineer in its manufacturing engineering team in Getafe. The main goal is to make sure aircraft assembly processes are designed and run to the highest standards of occupational health and industrial efficiency, adapting tools, jigs, flows and pacing to the physical capabilities of operators so that musculoskeletal disorders are prevented while performance is optimized.

Key responsibilities

• Ergonomics: assess workstation and assembly-line risks using methods such as EMMA (awkward postures, heavy lifting, repetitive strain)
• Co-design ergonomic jigs, access platforms, tooling and assembly lines with Manufacturing Engineering and Ramp Up teams
• Use digital simulation tools (3D human modeling) in early design phases to validate ergonomics before parts reach the shop floor
• Monitor absenteeism and musculoskeletal disorder trends and propose corrective and preventive actions
• Run workshops and training on postural hygiene and participatory ergonomics for operators and team leaders
• Safety: help managers identify work-related hazards, categorize occupational risks and ensure appropriate risk controls
• Support investigation of incidents from near misses to lost-time injuries and request specialist support when needed
• Promote EHS topics across the organization through training, awareness campaigns and inductions
• Act as Plant Focal Point with central teams such as Medical Services and Human Factor Organization

Required profile

• Fluent English and Spanish, due to the international environment and Airbus technical documentation
• Excellent communication and empathy to bridge the needs of shop-floor operators and management's production targets
• Good knowledge of EHS requirements, national laws and regulations on the workplace
• Entry-level experience level indicated
