Mechanical Engineer – Satellite GSE

About the role

Sateliot is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its small MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Test) team. You will be one of the first mechanical engineers in the company, focusing on the design and development of ground support equipment (GSE) for satellite manufacturing and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical jigs, interfaces, and mechanisms for GSE to support MAIT activities.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
• Develop and execute environmental test, measurement, alignment, and verification procedures for prototype satellite systems.
• Analyse results from vibration, thermal, and other mechanical environmental tests.
• Collaborate with electrical, system, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Produce documentation for GSE usage, handling, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with procurement to secure external suppliers and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality GSE.
• Define metrology approaches and select specialised measurement equipment or suppliers.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in space, aerospace, or high‑precision manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for space technology.
