Network Observability Engineer

About the role

Roche is hiring a Network Observability Engineer in Madrid to join its Network Management Services team, which sits at the heart of the company's infrastructure strategy. The engineer will architect the systems that let global teams collaborate on life-saving medicine without interruption, turning raw network data into operational intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design and scale the observability stack (LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, LiveNX) to give real-time insights across a large global footprint.
• Develop and maintain methods for extracting network data via SNMP, APIs and network telemetry/streaming data.
• Maintain monitoring infrastructure on Linux and integrate open-source and commercial tools.
• Evaluate new monitoring solutions and open-source visualization tools such as Grafana.
• Use monitoring data to find performance issues, bottlenecks and anomalies, reducing MTTR and preventing incidents.
• Help design a centralized observability dashboard fed by the corporate Data Lake, combining technical telemetry, financial metrics and ITSM data into reports for technical teams and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in Network Operations, SRE or DevOps environments.
• Experience with Data Lakes aggregating and normalizing technical telemetry, financial metrics and ITSM logs into dashboards.

Required skills

• Deep Linux/Unix knowledge and automation with Python, Bash or Ansible.
• Good understanding of connectivity technologies (CCNA level or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with modern observability platforms and API-based data collection.
