Patient Advocacy Intern

About the role

Johnson & Johnson's Patient Advocacy Intern supports the Patient Advocacy team in advancing patient-focused initiatives that strengthen engagement with patient organizations, generate patient insights and contribute to healthcare policy and access discussions. The internship lasts 1 year, starts in January 2027 and is full-time, based in Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Support stakeholder engagement activities
• Coordinate projects
• Monitor the healthcare environment
• Develop materials and analyses to support internal and external initiatives

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences or a related field
• Strong interest in the needs of patients across therapeutic areas such as Oncology, Hematology and Neuroscience
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, able to coordinate multiple internal and external activities at once
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and a patient-centric mindset
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
• Previous volunteering, social impact or patient-focused activities is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word
