Ruby on Rails Tech Lead

About the role

A fast-growing global leader in the wholesale blank apparel industry is looking for a Ruby on Rails Tech Lead in Barcelona to guide and mentor a team of Ruby developers while building its own e-commerce Content Management System (CMS). The role combines leading a team of developers with architecting and maintaining complex Ruby on Rails applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Ruby on Rails, React and Native app developers, giving them technical guidance and support.
• Collaborate with other departments to define project requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and complex challenges.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance with best practices.
• Mentor and train team members in efficient software development and programming practices.
• Take part in technical and strategic decisions on development projects.
• Architect, develop and maintain complex Ruby on Rails applications to a high standard.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails developer with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
• Previous experience in a technical leadership role.
• Excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of MySQL and relational databases.
• Experience working with Docker containers.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns and software development best practices.
• Nice to have: ElasticSearch, Memcached or Redis, and basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform.

• Salary of 50,000 to 65,000 EUR gross per year.
