Senior Accountant - Europe

About the role

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), a fast-growing semiconductor company worldwide known for integrated power semiconductors, is looking for a Senior Accountant for its Europe function. The role reports to the Europe Controller and is based in Barcelona, Spain, supporting the local office and accounting and administrative needs of other European subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accounting and administration support for all European subsidiaries.
• Maintain bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash accounts and expenses in line with corporate guidelines and IFRS.
• Coordinate statutory tax and reporting requirements with local service providers, and research tax and regulatory issues as needed.
• Help coordinate tax credit, grant and European fund applications and reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare and review journal vouchers, and give management timely and accurate reporting.
• Propose accounting solutions for new or unusual transactions and help keep daily accounting consistent with corporate policies, procedures and GAAP.
• Support audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, the budget process and ad hoc projects.

Required profile

• BS/BA degree in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Fluent Spanish and English (C1); French or German at B2 is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and organisation skills.
