Senior Applied AI Scientist – AI Learning

About the role

Preply is looking for a Senior Applied AI Scientist to lead AI‑driven learning initiatives. You will develop and scale multimodal models that personalize tutoring experiences and deliver real‑time feedback to millions of learners worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Apply deep learning, NLP, LLMs and multimodal AI to build scalable solutions for personalized learning and AI tutors.
• Research, prototype and deploy cutting‑edge AI models in production environments.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and other scientists to turn research into features that improve learning outcomes.
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to ML best practices, including model architecture, research methodology and deployment pipelines.

Required profile

• PhD in NLP, Machine Learning or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 4+ years of industry experience building deep‑learning‑based NLP applications.
• Strong proficiency with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
• Proven ability to drive AI projects from research to production in a collaborative setting.
• Passion for advancing AI‑powered personalized learning.
