Senior Business Analyst - IT Corporate

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is hiring a Senior Business Analyst (SBA) within its IT Corporate team in Madrid. The SBA works with business and function stakeholders to improve their processes and systems, assesses needs, resolves incidents and requests, and turns them into documented requirements. The role also provides second or third level support for escalated or urgent issues.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and document application and business requirements, create epics and user stories, define acceptance criteria and support prioritisation.
• Review and validate testing plans, oversee UAT and support deployment/rollout plans.
• Deliver functional design documentation or review designs delivered by third parties.
• Work with technical teams so specifications are understood, and help build training materials and the knowledge base of application features.
• Provide 2nd or 3rd level support for escalated or urgent issues, working closely with the application support outsourcer.
• Monitor escalated issues, partner with the outsourcer to improve service quality, and attend service, project and management meetings.
• Facilitate outsourcer testing activities such as unit, regression and user acceptance testing when required.
• Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences and present findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in IT or computer science, or equivalent high-level degree.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Oracle EBS R12 on Order to Cash, Record to Reporting, Procure to Pay or Supply Chain.
• Experience managing requirements through the delivery and operational life cycle.
• Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

Required skills

• Oracle EBS R12 (O2C, R2R, P2P, Supply Chain); Oracle Fusion Cloud experience desirable.
• Strong experience supporting unit, regression and user acceptance testing; automated testing a plus.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and standards.
• Business analysis techniques such as business process modelling, requirements analysis, user stories and use cases.
• Solid experience managing activities with external suppliers such as Oracle.
