Senior CloudOps Engineer

About the role

AstraZeneca's Evinova team is looking for a Senior CloudOps Engineer based in Barcelona, working onsite three days a week and two days from home. You will support the daily operations of the SaaS platform: CI/CD pipelines, system reliability, cost optimization and cloud resource management across multiple AWS accounts. Practical DevOps skills, an operations-first mindset and hands-on experience with MongoDB are expected.

Key responsibilities

• Day-to-day AWS operations (EC2, RDS, EKS, S3, IAM, VPC), including patching, scaling and backups, and incident response and on-call rotations
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and improve deployment reliability through automation and scripting
• Monitor cloud usage and support cost optimization, such as right-sizing, compute migrations and storage tiering
• Operate and monitor MongoDB and RDS Aurora clusters, troubleshoot database issues and support their integration with application workloads
• Configure monitoring and alerting with Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry, and help define runbooks and dashboards
• Follow IAM security practices, support patching, logging and compliance (SOC 2, ISO, HIPAA), and work with security engineers on audit readiness

Required profile

• 3-5+ years in CloudOps, DevOps or SRE roles
• Strong operational knowledge of AWS (EC2, RDS, IAM, S3, CloudWatch)
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB and RDS Aurora in production
• Good communication, teamwork, detail-oriented and collaborative with global teams

Required skills

• Scripting in Python, Bash or similar
• Monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
• Desired: Kubernetes (EKS), FinOps, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, and healthcare compliance exposure (HIPAA, GDPR, NIST)
