Senior Electrical Installation Design Engineer

About the role

Aerbus Defence and Space is looking for an Electrical Installation Senior Design Engineer to join its Electrical System Installation Design Department (Spanish perimeter). The engineer supports the development of Eurofighter future capabilities such as P4E and LTE, working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary team with global stakeholders from Systems Analysis, Configuration, Structural Design, Manufacturing and In-Service Support. The role also offers exposure to other programmes such as FCAS, Eurodrone, A400M and legacy combat aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the design definition dossier for Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS), including wiring diagrams and electrical harnesses.
• Design mechanical supports, bracketry and complex electromechanical installations for onboard equipment and electrical boxes.
• Use CATIA V5/V6-3DX together with electrical diagram tools to model, trace and integrate advanced electrical routing.
• Collaborate with international engineering teams to align installation designs with structural and manufacturing requirements.
• Manage technical documentation, configuration control and design changes throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Aeronautical or industrial engineering degree, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of engineering experience, specifically in a Design or Airframe department.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-organised, proactive and adaptable to new topics in a networked way.
• Advanced English; Spanish as a mother tongue; knowledge of German or Italian is valued.

Required skills

• Electrical or electromechanical design background.
• CATIA V5 knowledge (CATIA V6/3DX desirable).
• Electrical diagram tools such as See-XP and Capital Logic.
