Senior ERP Engineer - Workday Financials

About the role

DataDirect Networks (DDN) is a global leader in AI and multi-cloud data management, and is looking for a Senior ERP Engineer to join its Finance Systems team in Madrid. The engineer supports the implementation, enhancement and ongoing maintenance of Workday Financials and connected finance applications, working with Accounting, Finance, Procurement and technical teams to turn business needs into practical, scalable solutions. Experience implementing or maintaining Workday Financials is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a key engineer for the Workday Financials deployment, covering configuration, testing, documentation and ongoing enhancements in areas such as Fin Accounting and P2P.
• Partner with Finance stakeholders to turn business needs into system designs, process improvements and supportable solutions.
• Configure and maintain finance business processes, security, calculated fields, reports, dashboards and data validations.
• Work with the integration and automation team to connect Workday with other applications (e.g. Workato, SFDC, Oracle).
• Help set up operational discipline through documentation, ticket handling, sprint participation and delivery tracking.

Required profile

• 3-6 years of experience in ERP, Finance Systems, business systems or a related finance systems engineering or analyst role.
• Practical understanding of accounting and finance processes such as general ledger, financial reporting, procure-to-pay, banking, order-to-cash and fixed assets.
• Experience supporting system enhancements, implementations or post-go-live optimisation in a growth environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Workday Financials certification or formal training in a Workday domain.
• Experience with financial controls, audit support, data reconciliation or month-end close.
• Experience with a global or multi-country finance organisation.
• Exposure to Jira and Gen AI models such as Claude and Gemini.
