Senior Financial Crime Analyst Crypto/Digital Assets (English)

About the role

EY GDS Spain is looking for a Senior Consultant in the Financial Risk Business Consulting area to join its team in Malaga and develop projects in the Financial Crime field. The role works on international projects using the latest technologies, supports clients in choosing the right business solution and takes part in digital transformation. The position is 100% on site at the Malaga office.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze blockchain transactions and wallet activity to identify suspicious patterns, trace fund flows and support financial crime investigations across digital asset networks.
• Review and analyze digital asset transactions to detect unusual activity, assess financial crime risk and ensure compliance with AML/CTF regulations.
• Apply Know Your Business procedures to validate and assess corporate customers against AML, sanctions and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and update financial crime compliance policies and procedures, and carry out risk assessments.
• Support the design and development of AML technological tools and act as quality checker for the team.
• Report to senior management and communicate with clients on team progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or engineering degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in money laundering and terrorist financing prevention in the financial sector, on L2 investigations, STR/SAR reporting and complex investigations.
• Training and specific experience in money laundering and terrorist financing.
• High-level English (C1).
• Availability to work 100% on site in Malaga.

Required skills

• Blockchain analysis and cryptocurrency transaction monitoring.
• Ideally experience with tools such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs and Elliptic.
• Ideally experience in fintech, VASP or gaming/betting companies, and with US market customers.
• Experience in Big Four or similar firms is positively valued.
