Senior Full-Stack Engineer (.NET, Vue.js, AI-Augmented)

About the role

Frontiers Media is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to join the team building the Research Topic Management (RTM) application. The RTM platform powers the Research Topics service, which brings together themed, peer-reviewed article collections so researchers worldwide can collaborate and publish openly. The role is autonomous and technical, owning complex backend systems and full-stack features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to production monitoring and incident resolution.

The company has adopted AI-based spec-driven design across the software development lifecycle, using AI for code review, testing and code analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications with .NET, Vue.js and Nuxt
• Modernise legacy systems, including migrating older Angular apps to the Vue and Nuxt stack
• Own full-stack projects end-to-end, from specification to delivery and production monitoring
• Work with product managers, architects and cross-functional teams on requirements, feasibility and implementation strategy
• Write clean, maintainable code, ensure quality through testing and review, and optimise for performance and scalability
• Troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems and use AI tooling to improve engineering quality and speed

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in .NET Core / .NET Framework
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (Vue 3 a plus)
• Strong expertise in SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing and query optimisation
• Experience owning complex, distributed system architectures and microservices
• Comfortable in a hybrid environment and in a multinational, cross-functional team

Required skills

• .NET Core / .NET Framework and REST APIs
• Vue.js (Vue 2 and Vue 3), with state management and component-based architecture
• JavaScript, CSS and HTML
• Nice to have: Nuxt, GraphQL, NoSQL, RabbitMQ/Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes, GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps
