Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Cabify is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Madrid. Site Reliability Engineers at Cabify blend systems engineering and software development to improve the platform, solving scalability issues and applying production and security best practices. The team works on greenfield projects and has a strong remote culture.

Key responsibilities

• Evolving the infrastructure platform with self-service components used by the engineering team and millions of users.
• Work with Product and Infrastructure teams to design and build infrastructure components.
• Build tooling that improves availability, scalability, observability and latency of services.
• Promote reliability awareness, review observability implementations and architectures, and define SLIs, SLOs and SLAs.
• Share an on-call schedule and solve problems on the highly available platform, then automate fixes.
• Take part in recruiting to help grow the engineering team.
• Work on projects such as improving the Kubernetes setup (AWS EKS) with Terraform, the networking layer, the Grafana/Cortex observability stack, the persistence layer, and GitLab CI.

Required profile

• Comfortable with Unix, networking, containers and schedulers, monitoring, logging and the CAP theorem.
• Strong programming skills in at least one language, and ability to learn others.
• Comfortable communicating in English within an international team.
• Enjoys mentoring other product teams and simplifying setups.
