Senior Workplace Engineer - Real Time Communication (Hybrid)

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for a Senior Workplace Engineer in its Digital Workplace team in Madrid, focused on Microsoft 365 Real Time Communication and Collaboration services, Workplace AI assistants, agents and automation. The role co-leads the strategy, adoption and delivery of these capabilities for the company's global workforce, in line with security, compliance, regulatory and governance requirements. The position is hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of Workplace and Microsoft 365 Real Time Communication and collaboration capabilities, including security, governance and compliance controls
• Identify, evaluate and develop processes, user journeys and services in the Real Time Communications and Collaboration area
• Deliver initiatives such as platform modernisation and migration, turning technology into measurable business value
• Stay ahead of Digital Workplace trends and engage with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Work hands-on with Microsoft 365, Azure workloads and modern scripting and development platforms
• Use data platforms such as MS Power Platform and Palantir Foundry for data-driven decisions and visualisations
• Share knowledge across teams and continuously improve controls and procedures

Required profile

• Self-starter with a hands-on, end-to-end approach, adaptable and curious, with a track record in complex, fast-paced environments
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills
• Nice to have: experience in a global enterprise, preferably in insurance or financial services; familiarity with regulatory, governance and risk management frameworks; agile SCRUM experience

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially Real Time Communication and Collaboration (Teams, Video Room Systems, MTRs, Teams external calling, AudioCodes SBCs and Gateways, SIP trunks, PSTN gateways, Operator Connect, voice recording, switchboard solutions)
• Advanced automation and scripting, including DevOps and CI/CD
• Data analytics and visualisation with MS Power Platform and Palantir Foundry
• Azure cloud, networking, identity and access management, and provisioning, authorisation and authentication
• Enterprise agentic AI platforms such as Copilot or ChatGPT Enterprise

What we offer

• Base salary range of EUR 60,000 to EUR 100,000 for a full-time role in Spain, depending on profile and requirements
