Space Systems FV / FDIR Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Spain is looking for a Space Systems Functional Avionics Engineer to support the Functional Verification (FV) and Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) activities for the LSTM and PAZ2 satellite missions. The role will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality space hardware and software on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead functional verification and FDIR activities for LSTM and later PAZ2 missions under the guidance of the Functional Avionics lead.
• Coordinate technical follow‑up of subcontracted equipment, including embedded HW/SW development and risk assessment.
• Define and monitor test systems with the AIT team, prepare integration and functional test campaigns, and review test reports.
• Support the Quality team in anomaly investigation, non‑conformance handling and NRB reporting.
• Produce technical documentation, deliver presentations, and contribute to proposal preparation.
• Participate in project technical reviews and interface with equipment suppliers.
• Collaborate with thermal, mechanical, harness and other engineering disciplines throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum three years of professional experience on space system projects.
• Proven experience in requirements management and subcontractor technical management.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and communicate technical information clearly.
