Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Destinus develops Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for defence applications and partners with government agencies and defence organisations worldwide. As Supplier Quality Engineer you will work on the production floor, approving components and auditing suppliers so that every part meets the strict aerospace and defence requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance procedures and supplier quality strategies aligned with aerospace and defence requirements.
• Lead supplier audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100 and defence standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, track non-conformances and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate root causes of production or supplier issues and define process improvements.
• Set and report supplier and internal quality KPIs, highlighting trends and risks to management.
• Work with Procurement, Engineering and Production to qualify new suppliers and support supplier development.
• Carry out FAI, FMEA, PPAP and PQP reviews to ensure parts and processes meet standards.
• Maintain inspection, control plan and quality management system records, and support customer and regulatory audits.
• Promote continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing or supplier quality roles in aerospace, automotive or high-tech production.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and implementing corrective actions.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100 and quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and quality management tools.
• Certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Six Sigma Green Belt are a strong plus.
