Supply Chain Quality Manager - Microwave Instruments for SpS

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) is looking for a Supply Chain Quality Manager to procure satellite payload equipment for its Telecoms & Navigation, Earth Observation & Science and Space Exploration programmes. The role acts as the focal point for suppliers on operational activities and contract management, and as the supplier's ambassador to internal functions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure quality and on-time deliveries by managing milestones, product life cycle reviews and deliverables with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage equipment suppliers and ensure good contract execution
• In recurring phases, lead progress meetings, gate reviews (KO, MRR, TRR, TRB/DRB), changes, deviations, waivers and non-conformities
• In development or new product introduction, support the Development Responsible with industrial and manufacturing needs, constraints and supplier maturity, ensuring qualification maturity before serial production
• Control supplier activities and manage stakeholders internally (programme line, technical authorities, engineering, Product Assurance, Supply Chain) and externally
• Manage product assurance aspects with the supplier, including non-conformity management
• Assess supplier capacity, capability and performance, identify industrial risks and run supplier performance improvement projects
• Contribute to supplier assessment during tendering and to selection decisions
• Act in line with Airbus values, ethics and compliance, and accommodate travel up to once or twice a month

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Electronics, Space/Aerospace or similar
• Experience in supply chain, quality, project management or engineering
• Fluent English; French, German or Spanish is a plus
• Commitment to integrity and awareness of compliance risks

Required skills

• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• High organisational and motivational skills
• Knowledge of space systems, satellite electronics, radar/RF payloads or payload manufacturing is a plus
