System Engineer (m/f/d) – WLAN CSA Platform

About the role

T-Systems Iberia is looking for System Engineers to join the WLAN CSA squad at its Telco Hub in Madrid. The team owns the end-to-end lifecycle and further development of the CSA Wifi/hotspot platform, working with developers and partners to design, integrate, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot it. The company is hiring 3 System Engineers, 1 project manager and 2 test managers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of the CSA platform within an operational team
• Implement and run virtualized and Kubernetes-based environments
• Analyse, troubleshoot and document system issues
• Integrate application-specific counters into new methods and tools for data analysis and monitoring
• Handle rollout management across the application lifecycle using ITIL/corporate processes (incident, problem, change)
• Integrate new services, including monitoring and alarms, and adapt existing ones
• Migrate the CSA platforms to new cloud platforms
• Improve software and system performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Be available for night shifts (max 2 per year) and on-call duty (7x24, max 2 per year)

Required profile

• Good written and spoken English; basic German is an advantage
• Nice to have: very good analytical skills, quality awareness, experience in classic and agile cooperation, and willingness to be on-call about 6 weeks per year

Required skills

• Troubleshooting of IPv4/IPv6 networks and protocols such as TCP, UDP, RADIUS, HTTP and tracing tools (e.g. Wireshark)
• Linux-based systems and virtualization or containerized solutions, including security patch management
• DevOps CI/CD tools (GitLab, Artifactory, Helm, Flux) and monitoring (Grafana, Promtail, Prometheus)
• REST API integration and modern security protocols
• Basic programming and scripting (Ansible, Bash, Python)
