UAS Flight Autonomy System Engineer (m/f)

About the role

We are looking for a UAS Flight Autonomy System Engineer to join Airbus UpNext Spain in Getafe. The role is focused on designing, implementing and verifying the flight‑autonomy demonstrator on a limited‑term contract ending December 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern system and functional requirements, ensuring end‑to‑end traceability from concept to flight‑test evidence.
• Develop functional, logical and physical architectures using MATLAB System Composer and maintain consistency across software baselines, ICDs and hardware interfaces.
• Design and execute the system‑level verification and validation strategy across MIL, SIL, PIL, HIL, ground and flight‑test campaigns.
• Coordinate requirements‑based testing, lead post‑flight data analysis and manage anomaly resolution and compliance matrices.
• Act as the central liaison between systems engineering, software development, safety, hardware integration and the flight‑test crew.

Required profile

• Strong background in aerospace systems engineering, integration or V&V, preferably in UAS, avionics or autonomous systems.
• Hands‑on experience with model‑based systems engineering tools and testing environments.
