Associate – Corporate & Public Affairs (Madrid)

About the role

Brunswick’s Madrid office is expanding and seeks an Associate to support leading Spanish and international clients on high‑profile corporate, financial and public‑affairs matters. You will work closely with Directors and Partners, delivering strategic advice and managing day‑to‑day execution across multiple stakeholder groups.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on corporate, financial and M&A situations, as well as political, regulatory and policy developments.
• Manage media and policy interactions, leveraging deep knowledge of the Spanish media, capital markets, government and NGOs.
• Drive execution on client accounts, overseeing workflow, client calls and draft documents.
• Mentor junior team members and support smooth team transitions.
• Contribute to new‑business proposals, pitch meetings and engagement letters.
• Build and maintain a network of journalists, policymakers and other stakeholders to generate business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Partners and Directors to grow Brunswick’s Madrid service offering.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of experience in advisory, consulting or public‑affairs roles.
• Strong understanding of the Spanish media, corporate, political and regulatory landscape.
• Experience advising on corporate, financial or M&A matters.
• Native‑level Spanish and fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, international environment.
• Credible communication with senior business leaders and strong analytical thinking.
• Demonstrated project or program management experience.
