Aircraft Performance Engineer – Military Derivatives

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an Aircraft Performance Engineer to join its Flight Physics Centre of Competence in Getafe, Madrid. You will work within a German‑Spanish team delivering performance analyses for all fixed‑wing programmes, supporting both design phases and in‑service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead performance deliverables for current and future programmes, R&D projects and certification activities.
• Support design and aircraft evaluation by assessing the impact of configuration changes on performance.
• Conduct commercial and operational studies for sales campaigns, RFPs and customer queries, and provide in‑service technical support.
• Analyse flight data for development, certification, training and incident investigations while driving tool harmonisation and digitalisation.
• Produce high‑quality technical dossiers on time, manage technology road‑maps and expand the service portfolio.
• Promote continuous improvement and maintain strong cross‑functional communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of experience in aircraft performance, including development, flight‑test and certification.
• Advanced English proficiency; German or Spanish is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem‑solving abilities.
