Backend Engineer – Private Banking

About the role

ING Spain is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to bring its new Private Banking segment to life. You will design, develop and test the code behind the application's components, deliver working software in production and support it, while contributing to the technical discipline of the squad.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test the code of the application components, ensuring functionality, quality and performance.
• Deliver working software in production, including documentation and parameters.
• Support production by analysing and fixing bugs.
• Contribute to improving technical discipline with the cross-functional technical chapter.
• Focus on the backend layer while keeping the wider technical stack in mind.
• Work on coding, story refinement, environment management, releases and monitoring.

Required profile

• 5 years of experience on a similar technical stack.
• Agile team experience with Scrum, Kanban or XP.
• Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
• Desirable: retail banking knowledge, database migration (Flyway, Liquibase), Prometheus, security (JWT, mTLS), Jenkins, BDD, reactive programming, Akka/Scala, NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB), message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka), Apache Camel, Selenium/Cucumber, Elastic Stack, Grafana, JavaScript/HTML/CSS.

Required skills

• Java 8/11/17 and Spring (Boot, MVC, Core, Security, Dependency Injection)
• Microservices: hexagonal architecture, circuit breaker, API gateway, service discovery, feature flags
• Design patterns, SOLID, clean code
• Unit, integration and smoke testing, JUnit, Mockito, WireMock, Maven, Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes, Ansible, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Azure pipelines
